Alms for Saint Anthony
Alms boxes for the poor were and still are a common sight in many churches. They were often engraved with the names “Bread for the Poor” or “St. Anthony's Bread ”or“ Alms for the poor ”. It was the custom to request a grace or mention an intention as you deposited alms into the box. The alms were used to help those in need and to promote the devotion to St. Anthony of Padua.
You too can deposit your alms here at this Virtual Oratory. These alms will be used to spread devotion to St. Anthony throughout the United States and the world, and to help poor souls that have lost their way and have left the Catholic Faith, who need to be found with St. Anthony's aid and through his intercession! St. Anthony will not turn a deaf ear to your requests.
